Whether performing as a solo entertainer, with his vocal-trio Poperazzi, or sharing the stage with a host of fellow performers George can perform or produce the perfect show for your event.
Thanks to decades of on-stage experience in the opera world, musical theater, and on cruise ships, I'm at seasoned veteran who is at home on stage performing with orchestras of any size.
A mix of classic masculinity and charm, George DeMott captures the essence of the great singers of days gone by with his unique contemporary style. Singing opera to pop and everything in between, his performances have captured the hearts of listeners around the world. Classically trained, he holds degrees from UC Santa Barbara and the prestigious Eastman School of Music. In the opera world, he has performed several classic Tenor roles with Orlando, Glimmerglass, Virginia, Illinois, and others. Most recently, George joined the team at Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra as a development officer where he is honored to further the mission of music at such an esteemed anchor in Rochester's cultural arts community.
Although he enjoys singing many styles of music, his heart and voice shine in the new Pop-Opera genre best reflected in his work with the dynamic vocal trio, POPERAZZI. This energetic and versatile trio has performed with some of the top orchestras in North America including Atlanta, Philadelphia, Edmonton, Naples, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Corpus Christi, Pasadena, Detroit, and more. Although being born and raised in Rochester, NY, George spent 11 years based in Las Vegas where he put his talents to work performing at resorts and casinos as well as corporate venues there.
George has also been a featured guest entertainer aboard several cruiseships, namely Crystal Cruises, bringing his love of Pop-Opera to audiences all over the world. His shows have been well received and praised by celebrities such as Patrick Swayze, Barbara Walters, Regis Philbin, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O’Connor, and even Mario Lanza’s daughter Ellisa Lanza-Bregman who said, “…George is very talented. His grace and ease with the audience reminded me of my father Mario Lanza. He too was from a very large Italian family and, like George, was very proud of his Italian American heritage…”
George has three CDs he's recorded: SERENADE, TWO FOR MY BABY, and HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS.
I have always felt it’s important to give back in some way to those that helped get you where you are.
To reflect my gratitude toward Penfield High School (in upstate New York) teachers and administrators that helped foster my vocal music career, and with the help of one of the school’s outstanding music teachers, Diane Abrahamian, we created “The Robert DeMott Memorial Vocal Music Scholarship”, named in honor of my brother.
The scholarship aids a graduating High School senior that is planning to pursue a career in vocal music. Since its creation in 1999, the scholarship has helped several students pursue their dreams.
At Penfield High School, people saw my potential, and through patient encouragement and instruction, helped shape me into the musician and performer I am today. I’m pleased to be a part of continuing the tradition with a generation of new artists.
Funding for the scholarship comes through donations gathered at my bi-yearly concerts at Penfield High School as well as private donations by fans, friends, and family.
To donate to this worth while cause, please contact me via this website or contact Penfield High School directly at 25 High School Drive, Penfield, NY 14526, USA (585-249-6700).
